Cleaner air, clearer lungs, better lives: exploring the intersection of air quality, health inequalities and lung health

Research on lung health often looks at the health of people with lung conditions in limited ways. It mainly focusses on the illness itself and available medical treatments, but patient experiences are often missing.

Recognising this gap, Economist Impact, supported by Chiesi, conducted a survey of 500 people with lung conditions in France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK. The aim of the research was to explore the relationship between air quality, health inequalities and lung health.

This study looks at both policy and individual perspectives, and provides a view of how the environment impacts those living with lung conditions.

This research was funded by Chiesi. Chiesi provided input into the project, however Economist Impact retained full, final editorial control.
