Chiesi has been developing medicines to treat respiratory diseases for more than 30 years, including therapies for asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

About Asthma

Asthma is a common, life-long respiratory disease involving extreme hypersensitivity of the airways.

The most common symptoms are coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath and tightness in the chest.

In the UK, around 5 million people have asthma. If not managed correctly, asthma can worsen and lead to serious consequences. Sadly, an estimated four people per day die from asthma attacks, many of which are preventable.1

About COPD

COPD is the term used to describe long-term bronchitis and emphysema. It is a common, life-long condition caused by damage to the lungs and can lead to breathlessness, wheezing and coughing.

In the UK, around 1.3 million people have been diagnosed with COPD, and a further 2 million are estimated to be undiagnosed.2

COPD can get worse over time, and, like asthma, flare ups can be fatal.

COPD&me has been developed by Chiesi to provide information and support for those living with, or caring for someone with, COPD. Visit www.copdandme.co.uk to learn more.
